About

Sarah C. Orris

Attorney at Law

Your Advocate and Teammate

Hi! I am the attorney and also the manager and sole member of Orris Law Firm, PLLC. I understand that you are likely stressed if you are seeking family law services - not to worry! I am here to simplify the process and ease your fears. I will educate you on the legal procedures every step of the way and we will go through this together. I view my client as my teammate not just because I prefer to be personable, but because your success is something that matters to me. With your knowledge of the situation and ongoing developments, I can use my legal knowledge and local experience to optimally manage your case.

As your teammate, I will do my best to make you comfortable through tough conversations but also be honest and real with you. Your success is my priority not just in the court room but for the years ahead.

While I am a strong advocate, I always do my best to practice with civility and class. I pride myself on quality representation rather than quantity so please understand I will decline new clients when I feel I am at my capacity. I need my sanity more than the money and you need someone who has time to return your calls.

As for the more formal introduction, I am a Pennsylvania native and graduated from Penn State with a bachelors in Industrial Engineering in 2009. I spent 5 years working as a manufacturing engineer for Rolls-Royce both in Indianapolis and Glasgow, Scotland. During this time I volunteered as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate and began my own business. I founded Witness, LLC, a specialty private investigations company that provided support and witnesses for family law crises. My exposure and involvement lead me to find my passion and ultimately make a huge career change. I quit my job to go to law school full time and graduated from Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2018. I interviewed at a firm in Winchester, VA because I wanted to be closer to extended family and I fell in love with the area. I worked as both a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) and associate attorney for about two years prior to starting my own practice. I continue to do Guardian ad Litem (GAL) work and take court appointments in Frederick/Winchester because that is what I enjoy the most. I look forward to meeting more people in this community and hope to make a positive contribution for many years to come.
